Minister of Agriculture: 90% of the three fires that broke out in the mountain forests in Al-Ghab area have been controlled

Minister of Agriculture Mohammad Hassan Qatana has stated that the firefighting teams have managed to extinguish 90% of the three fires that erupted yesterday high in mountain forests in Al-Ghab area in Hama western countryside and that work will continues until the fires are completely suppressed.

In a statement to journalists, Qatana said 26 tankers and firefighting vehicles took part in suppressing the fires, coming from five provinces, namely Hama, Homs, Tarous, Lattakia and Damascus. Helicopters also participated in this process, he added hailing the great efforts exerted in this regard despite the difficulties that face them, including rough terrain of the area, the strong winds and the high temperature.
