Minister Makhlouf met with the Resident Coordinator of United Nations Development and Humanitarian Activities

Engineer Hussein Makhlouf, Minister of Local Administration and Environment, met with the Resident Coordinator of United Nations Development and Humanitarian Activities Adam Abdel Mawla and his accompanying delegation

The two sides discussed the needs of the humanitarian response, and strengthening cooperation frameworks between the government side, the Supreme Relief Committee, and United Nations development and humanitarian organizations working in Syria.

Makhlouf stressed that the Syrian government is dealing objectively in terms of delivering humanitarian aid to those who deserve it, based on its responsibilities towards its people, while working to take measures and decisions that facilitate the return of refugees to their homeland

Makhlouf pointed out the increase in the number of people in need as a result of the terrorist war on Syria for years, the earthquake disaster, and the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on it, in addition to the theft by the American and Turkish occupations of our wealth of oil, wheat, and cotton in the northeastern and northern regions of the country

For his part, Abdel Mawla stressed the importance of focusing on early recovery plans, as work is currently being done to formulate a plan that includes several basic sectors: education, health, water and hygiene, and livelihoods, in addition to electricity, to enable Syrians to rely on themselves, especially since Syria is rich in qualified human resources.
