Minister Al-Moallem discusses with Bin Alawi bilateral relations between Syria and the Sultanate of Oman

On January 15, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Walid Muallem discussed with his Omani counterpart Youssef bin Alawi bilateral relations and developments of events at the regional and international levels.

During the meeting, Minister Al-Moallem expressed condolences on behalf of the Syrian government and the Syrian people on the death of Sultan Qaboos bin Said.

He noted  the great role that the late Sultan played in strengthening the relationship between the two brotherly countries and expressed  his confidence that the  Sultanate of Oman will continue its path towards progress and prosperity led by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Bin Taimur.

 

In turn, Minister Bin Alawi expressed his country’s thanks and appreciation for the condolences of the Syrian leadership and the Syrian people.

The meeting was attended by the Syrian Ambassador in Muscat, Dr. Bassam Al-Khatib, and Mohammed Al-Amrani, Director of the Administration of the Special Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
