Military Spokesman: Syrian Army destroys 1662 terrorist targets since 27th of December

Damascus -The Military spokesman of the Syrian Arab Army affirmed on Wednesday that 1662 terrorist targets were destroyed during army’s airstrikes against the sites of terrorist organizations in the countryside of Damascus, Homs, Hama, Idleb, Aleppo and Deir Ezzor.

The spokesman said that the Syrian Air Force carried out since the 27th of Last December 481 sorties and destroyed 1662 terrorist targets including a command center with all terrorists inside it, 3 armored vehicles and a rocket launcher in al-Latamiana, Maarkaba,al-Tamaniaa and Akrab in Hama, SANA reported.

 

In Idleb, 4 terrorists’ positions, a factory for manufacturing explosive devices, a fortified position and number of heavy-equipped vehicles were destroyed during the sorties and dozens of terrorists were killed.

The spokesman noted that during the sorties, 3 fortified positions, 2 command sites and 3 armored vehicles were destroyed in Aleppo.

A command site in Douma, tens of vehicles in Homs countryside and Deir Ezzor were also destroyed.

The spokesman said that army units, in cooperation with popular defense groups, continued operations and advanced in many areas taking advantage of the Russian and Syrian airstrikes.

He said that army launched early this month a wide military operation in the northern countryside of Daraa, establishing control over more than 60% of al-Sheikh Maskyn city and the areas surrounding it, including Tal al-Hash and all the 82nd brigade camp.

He added that the army established control over al-Bilalia village and the farms surrounding it in the Eastern Ghouta and continued to advance in Harasta farms to the east of the international highway.

The spokesman pointed out that army, aided by popular defense groups, restored stability and security to more than 15 villages in the eastern and southern countryside of Hama.

In Homs countryside, army units, in cooperation with popular defense groups, reestablished control over the mounts of Mahin al-Kabier and Mahin al-Saghir, al-Mstwdaat area, Mahin town, and al-Hadath and Hawarein villages and the strategic hills in Mahsa- al-Qariatin Road.

In the eastern countryside of Aleppo, army established control over Aisha, Ayn al-Bida, Srib villages and the farms surrounding Srib and established control over the road of Nassr Allah – Ayn al-Bida villages towards Raqqa Road.

The spokesman said that army units forced out ISIS from the villages and farms of al-Abodia, al-Ajozia and al-Mltafta, inflicting heavy losses on the terrorist organization.

In Lattakia countryside, army units, in cooperation with popular defense groups, established full control over Salma town, the hills and strategic points surrounding it and more than 20 villages and farms.

The spokesman said that army will continue carrying out its tasks till eliminating terrorism and restoring the stability and security to all Syrian areas.
