Military spokesman: Number of terrorists fleeing towards the Turkish borders has doubled

Damascus – Military spokesman of the Syrian Arab Army said that the numbers of terrorists who are fleeing towards the Turkish borders had doubled, noting that differences among terrorists’ leaders grew after the success which was achieved by the Syrian army in cooperation with the popular defense groups in war against Takfiri terrorism, SANA reported.

The military spokesman said in a statement that supported by the Syrian and Russian air forces, the army units in cooperation with the popular defense groups successfully fought and faced the terrorist organizations and achieved advance in many directions inflicting heavy loses upon terrorists in Damascus, Daraa, Sweida, Lattakia, Aleppo, Hama and Homs.

 Army units in cooperation with the allied forces established control over more than 65 towns and farms and strategic lands in the south western countryside of Aleppo, according to the spokesman who explained that army units continued advancing from different directions after completely establishing control over Khan Touman and al-Qurasi towns and the area surrounding depots and farms, affirming that army units inflicted heavy losses in personnel and munitions in terrorist organizations’ ranks who tried to infiltrate to military posts in Pashkoi, Dweir al-Zeitoun and Handarat in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

The military spokesman said that Syria’s army Air force carried out a special air operation against gatherings and headquarters of terrorist organizations in Eastern Ghouta in Damascus Countryside killing terrorist Zahran Aloush, the leader of the so-called Jaish al-Islam in addition to a big number of al-Rahman brigade and Ahrara al-Sham leaders.

Army units established control over al-Ishara position and the farms surrounding Marj al-Sultan town in Eastern Ghouta in addition to wide areas of farms which are located between al-Moadmiya and Dariya in Western Ghouta after destroying a net of tunnels and killing a number of terrorists.

Other army units destroyed an armored vehicle in addition to three vehicles equipped with heavy machine guns to the south of al-Manshieh neighborhood in Daraa al-Balad and gatherings for terrorists in al-Naziheen Camp, south of Busra square, to the south the electricity company and on al-Sad road in Daraa al-Mahata eliminating a number of terrorists including Reda Mohammad al-Masalmeh, the leader of the so-called Syria’s Revolutionaries’ front.

In Sweida countryside, the military spokesman said that a unit of army thwarted an infiltration attempt by a terrorist group to al-Thoula village and destroyed many vehicles to the east of Boutheina Hill and a vehicle equipped with a heavy machine gun in al-Qasr village, whereas another unit eliminated another terrorist group in Dier Dama in al-Lajat area.

In Homs countryside, army units thwarted an infiltration attempt by a terrorist group from Rahoum towards Maksar al-Hisan, from Unq al-Hawa towards Jub al-Jarah, from Haiyal Mountain towards a military post and on Salmiyeh- Ain al-Nisr road in the eastern countryside of the province, according to the military spokesman.

Army units in cooperation with the popular defense groups continued advancing in the northern countryside of Lattakia and established control over Ateira and al-Kabeer, Rweiset al-Udi, Rweiset al-Harami , Syriatel bridge, Big Black Mountain and a number of hills and strategic heights , noting that a unit of army carried out a special operation in Daghdaghan farm in Rabia area, during which they discovered a large field hospital in which masks, medical equipment and other equipment, mostly Turkish, Saudi, Qatari and American.

The military spokesman pointed out that from December 17th to 26th, the Syrian air force carried out 168 sorties on 590 targets of terrorist organizations in Damascus, Homs, Hama, Idleb and Aleppo.

The air strikes destroyed a convoy of vehicles on al-Teibeh – al-Sukhneh road and three headquarters for ISIS terrorists in Mhein and al-Hadath in Homs countryside in addition to command headquarters for Ahrar al-Sham movement in Atshan and a depot for Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization in al-Lattamneh in Hama countryside.

A convoy of vehicles for Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists was destroyed during sorties in al-Hbeit as well as vehicles which were equipped with machine guns to the north of Khan Sheikhoun in Idleb countryside and three fortified positions, two command and communication centers in al-Hatabat hill and Ain al-Beida, al-Bab, Khan al-Asal and Sharba’a in Aleppo countryside in addition to a command headquarters for terrorist organizations in Autaiya in Eastern Ghouta in Damascus Countryside.

The military spokesman concluded the statement assuring that army units have high spirits and are more determined to continue the national tasks in eliminating terrorism and restoring security and stability to Syria.
