Military Source Denies Allegations about Airstrike Targeting a Hospital in Aleppo

DAMASCUS – A military source on Thursday denied news about the Air Force targeting a hospital in al-Sukkari neighborhood in Aleppo city.

The source affirmed that the reports about targeting the hospital circulated by some TV channels that are involved in the bloodshed in Syria are baseless and untrue.

These reports are an attempt to cover the crimes which terrorists are committing against civilians in Aleppo having already fired over 1300 shells on residential neighborhoods over the past few days, the source said, according to SANA.

Dozens of people have been killed and many others have been injured as the attacks continue against the city’s locals.

Russian Military Denies Reports of Alleged Airstrike on Aleppo Hospital

The Russian Defense Ministry denied on Thursday media reports of an alleged Russian airstrike on a hospital in Syria’s Aleppo that killed scores of civilians, Sputnik reported.

Some Western media outlets earlier claimed, citing Doctors Without Borders group, that a Russian combat plane delivered an airstrike on a hospital in Aleppo killing at least 14 patients and staff.

“Russian combat aircraft have not carried out missions in Aleppo Area in the past few days,” ministry’s spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov told reporters.

“According to our data, an aircraft belonging to a country from the so-called “anti-Daesh coalition” was operating in the skies over Aleppo on April 27,” Konashenkov added.
