Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said Wednesday that militants and the White Helmets were preparing new staged chemical attacks in Syria’s Idlib, according to Sputnik.
Idlib is one of the last Syrian areas where militants, including the Jabhat Nusra terrorists, are still active. Moreover, a lot of militants have been brought there from other regions under deals with the authorities.
“The terrorist group the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham [Jabhat al-Nusra] now controls basically 90 percent of the province, and the terrorists continue their provocative raids against the government force,” Nebenzia said during a Security Council session on Wednesday. “We are seriously concerned by the new information stating that the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham fighters with the support of the infamous White Helmets are preparing new staged events with the use of toxic elements.”
Earlier this year, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the White Helmets had deployed equipment in several hospitals in the Syrian province of Idlib to film false flag chemical attacks and blame it on Damascus.
The so-called “White Helmets” has repeatedly been busted staging and filming false-flag attacks: last April, the group published footage featuring doctors in Douma hospitals treating patients that had suffered from an alleged chemical attack.
Foreign troops occupying Syrian areas must leave
Nebenzya also said, according to SANA, that all the foreign troops, which are occupying areas in Syria, must leave the country, pointing out that the situation in al-Rukban Camp is disastrous due to the US occupying troops that are preventing its residents from leaving the area.
He went on saying that most of the displaced Syrians are willing to return to their original places of residence as the Syrian government has prepared all the necessary procedures for their return, yet some countries are still creating obstacles preventing this return.
