Mikdad, Slutsky discuss ways of activating cooperation between Syrian parliament and Russian Duma

MOSCOW, (ST)_Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates  Faisal Mikdad, discussed on Thursday with Chairman of the International Affairs’ Committee at Russian Duma Council, Leonid Slutsky, the friendly relations and cooperation between Syria and Russia.
 
During the meeting, Slutsky, highly appreciated the achievements made by Syria and Russia in the fight against terrorism, reaffirming his country’s support for Syria to enhance its capabilities and overcome the impacts of the Western coercive measures imposed on it.
 
He also stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in all fields.
 
On his part, Mikdad stressed the important role played by parliamentary diplomacy to strengthen friendly and cooperation relations between the two countries.
 
The two sides also discussed the importance of activating and coordinating work between the Syrian People’s Assembly [parliament] and the Russian Duma.
