Mikdad and al-Hilal meet the visiting Spanish party delegation

Damascus – Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad met on Thursday member of the Executive Committee and the International Relations Committee in the Communist Party of Spain Francisco Frutos Gras and member of the Central Committee of the Living Unified Socialist Party of Catalonia (PSUC viu) Edwardo Luque Guerrero.

During the meeting, al-Mikdad affirmed that the strategy of the Syrian State at this stage is focused on combating terrorism and working on reaching a political solution to the crisis, SANA reported.

In turn, Frutos Gras said the terrorist war waged on Syria aims at imposing geopolitical hegemony on the region by the global imperialism, noting that people in the Communist Party of Spain support efforts seeking a political solution in Syria in order to achieve peace.

In the same context, Assistant Regional Secretary of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party Hilal al-Hilal met the Spanish delegation and expressed during the meeting his appreciation for the courageous attitudes of the parties and social and political forces in some European countries that are opposed to their governments and in support of Syria.

Al-Hilal hoped that Europe will come to play an effective role in combating terrorism in words and deeds.
