Message from President Al-Assad to Algerian Counterpart

ALGIERS, (ST)-President Bashar Al-Assad sent a message to President Abdelaziz Bouteflika of Algeria conveyed to him by Deputy Premier, Minster of Foreign affairs and Expatriates Walid al-Moallem during a meeting on Wednesday.

President Al-Assad’s message aimed at briefing the Algerian leadership on the latest developments in Syria and at benefitting from the Algerian experience in national reconciliation and civil harmony.

The meeting between President Bouteflika and minister al-Moallem at the presidential palace in Algiers focused on the situation in the region, the crisis in Syria, the victories being achieved by the Syrian Arab Army in the battle against terrorism.

 The talks also dealt with the efforts being exerted to attain political settlement and combat terrorism in Syria; a terrorism that hit Algeria in the past and caused huge damage and suffering to the country and the Algerians.

President Bouteflika and al-Moallem affirmed that Syria and Algeria are in the same trench against terrorism

In reciprocation for the message, Bouteflika asked al-Moallem to convey his best wishes to President Al-Assad, expressing hope that Syria will surpass the crisis and restore its leading role in the region and the world.
