MERCY Malaysia provides Hama National Hospital with 10 dialysis machines

HAMA, Feb.15, (ST)-The Malaysian Medical Relief Society (MERCY Malaysia) has provided Hama National Hospital with 10 dialysis machines to solve the problem of the acute shortage in the unit, and improve its services to patients

The devices were deliverrd during a visit made by a delegation from the Society today to the hospital, which suffers from a severe shortage of dialysis machines, in addition to the breakdown of many of them as a result of corruption and slackness that prevailed in its work environment due to the practices of the former regime.

The former regime’s practices had threatened the lives and safety of dialysis patients and caused them and their families a lot of suffering.

In this regard, the society’s coordinator, Dr. Arwa Haider, called on Hama Health Directorate to prepare a comprehensive report on the performance of dialysis units in all public hospitals in the governorate and their most prominent needs, so that they can be secured from supporting agencies during the coming period.

During a tour of the Maternity and Children’s Hospital, Dr. Haidar was briefed on the most prominent needs of patients and residents, especially nutritional supplements for pregnant women and children, and promised to provide them through the society.
