On July 28th, the head of the Moravian Czech Communist Party, member of the European Parliament, Katerjina Konicna, considered that the European Union countries are being affected more than Russia by Western sanctions imposed on Russia.
Konichna indicated in an interview with the Czech Parliamentary Papers website that according to Western officials’ statements, Russia must now be politically and economically collapsed, which did not happen.
Konichna said that the current inflation rate in the Czech Republic is higher than Russia.
Konichna stated that Russia’s awareness of the reality of the feasibility of these sanctions prompted it to not impose similar sanctions except in some areas such as reducing the number of diplomats and demanding payment of the value of raw materials exported to the West in rubles.
