Moscow,(ST)-Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev slammed as unacceptable the recognition and support by France and other states of what so-called “the Syrian coalition”.
“from the point of view of international law ,this is absolutely un acceptable”, Medvedev said in a wide-range interview with Agance France-Presse and Le Figaro ahead of a visit to Paris starting Monday.
“A desire to change the political regime of another state by recognizing a political force as the sole carrier of sovereignty seems to me to be not completely civilized, “he added.
“Let the Syrian people decide the form of the regime”, Medvedev made it clear. It is preferable if they “the opposition” came to power legally and not because of de liveries of arms from other countries”, he said.
Medvedev stressed Ruissia’s absolutely rejection to the partition of Syria and emerging another trouble enclave in the Middle East.
He also underlined that the Russian-Syrian military cooperation copes with international laws pointing out that Russian arms imported to Syria are defensive ones and only to be used against foreign aggression.
“the sole solution to crisis in Syria is through dialogue ,commencing talks and holding elections as the Syrian people has the right to determine the fate of their country, “Medvedev concluded.
