Medinsky: Our delegation in negotiations with Ukraine objected to cases of torture against Russian prisoners

The head of the Russian delegation to negotiations with Ukraine, Vladimir Medinsky, announced that his country’s delegation had expressed its objection to the cases of torture suffered by Russian prisoners in Ukraine.

Medinsky told reporters after the start of the new round of negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul this morning that Kiev promised to take the most severe measures against the criminals who tortured the captured Russian soldiers.

“We delivered a protest to the Ukrainian side about the treatment of the Russian prisoners, the protest was accepted and they promised us to take action if they were able to arrest the perpetrators,” Medinsky said.

Medinsky indicated that negotiations are continuing from nine thirty in the morning, and a summary of the results will be presented after several hours.
