Medical aid enters Daraa as humanitarian aid for Aleppo sets off

PROVINCES,(ST)_Medical aid has reached Daraa countryside, as a convoy carrying  humanitarian aid for people in western and eastern countryside of Aleppo province has set off.

According to the Syrian TV channel, the Syrian government in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent entered some 13 tons of medical aid to 9 healthcare centers in Daraa countryside.

The medical aid is to be sent to cities and towns of Jasem, Nemr, Harra, Nawa, Tafas, Bosra al-Harir, Hrak, Nahteh and Mlehet al-Atsh in west-northern and western as well as north-eastern countryside of Daraa, Head of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent’s branch Dr. Ahmad Masalmeh said.

Meantime, five trucks carrying 50 water tanks plus vaccines and other materials for people in western and eastern countryside of Aleppo province set off.

The convoy comes within the efforts being exerted by Aleppo Governorate and aid sub-committee to ensure citizens’ needs in the city of Aleppo and its countryside, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency added that the Higher Relief Committee debated the map of distributing humanitarian aid in all areas.

Last month, armed terrorist groups seized aid in Idlib countryside.
