Media Office in Gaza: The occupation deliberately booby-traps the waste it leaves at homes in Gaza

Occupied Al-Quds (ST) – The media office in Gaza condemned the Israeli occupation’s crime of booby-trapping the waste it leaves behind in homes in the Gaza Strip, calling on the international community to bring in specialized engineering teams and explosives experts and provide the Strip with the technical capabilities necessary to deal with these wastes and remove their danger.

The office stated that the occupation did not limit itself to killing the Palestinian people with direct bombardment, but also used the deception of canned bombs to increase the number of martyrs and wounded, especially children who cannot distinguish these wastes.

According to the UN estimate, about 10 percent of the shells and bombs dropped by the occupation forces, estimated at more than 75,000 tons, were explosives that did not explode, which means that there are about 7,500 tons of shells and bombs in the streets, lands, and homes, among the rubble in various regions of the Strip.

“This matter represents a severe danger that will not end even with the end of the aggression unless it is removed and the danger of its explosion is neutralized”, the office warned.
