DAMASCUS, (ST)_Under the auspices of H. E. President Bashar Al-Assad, the ‘International Media Conference against Terrorism‘ started its activities at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts, Damascus Opera House.
Information Minister, Omran al-Zou’bi, who represented H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad at the Conference, reviewed in an opening speech, some of the heinous crimes and massacres perpetrated by the foreign-backed multinational terrorists, including those attacks against the Syrian Civilization, churches. Mosques, crops, infrastructure and industrial establishments.
The minister blasted the tripartite support to terrorism against Syrians represented in the Zionist-Wahabi, and Ottoman Erdogan.
Syria does welcome President Putin’s initiative as a necessity to combat terrorism, outlined the minister, appreciating the stances taken by Russia, Iran, China and BRICS, in line with respect to International Law and sovereignty of states, in supporting the fight of Syria against terrorism.
Minister al-Zou’bi renewed Syria’s welcome to the recently concluded nuclear agreement between Iran and P5+1 as an accomplishment for the Iranians, region and the entire world, in reflection for the credibility of Iran in boosting stability, security and peace in the region as well as in the world.
The minister asserted that Syria defends its existence and the war is not only a Syrian, but by Syria against terrorism, calling on those who still back terrorism, to reconsider their policies and stances, citing the UN Security Council resolutions against terrorism, 2170, 2178 and 2199, as well the still ongoing non-abidance and support to terrorism by Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan and Israel.
Syria’s veteran deputy premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Walid al-Moallem, hailed the signed nuclear agreement as a historic one, in recognition of Iran’s right to the peaceful use of nuclear power as well as of Iran’s big political role.
‘the stronger our ally is, the stronger we are,’ said minister al-Moallem, hailing all support provided by Iran in the fight against terrorism, reiterating that the fight against terrorism is but an international and moral duty, calling on all world countries to fight terrorism as Iran has been doing.
‘the Syrian people alone are to solve the crisis in Syria,’ underscored Minister al-Moallem, asserting that the need for the creation of a regional and international alliance against terrorism is a need, given the fact that the alliance led by the USA against ISIS has failed and cause it to spread more.
‘Does the USA intend to eliminate ISIS, or to exploit as as to achieve its strategic objectives?’ minister al-Moallem wondered, noting that the neighboring countries have not implemented the UNSC resolutions to fight terrorism.
Minister al-Moallem called on the Syrians who carried arms against Syria to come back as to work with the state against terrorism targeting the integrity and sovereignty of Syria.

Iran’s Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister Ali Jannati also spoke at the conference, saying that Iran will continue to stand by the Syrian people as it stands by the side of justice.
“We have to be more strongly and effectively present at the front of resistance to face Zionism and racism and battle with Takfirism and fanaticism that are the result of the misunderstanding of Islam,” said Jannati.
Deputy Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah Party Naim Qassem stressed that Syria has completely foiled the project aimed at diverting its political orientation towards the US-Israeli axis instead of the axis of the resistance.
The Syrian people’s will is no longer breakable now, in the same way that attempts to bring Syria down and take it out the resistance axis are no longer possible, said Qassem, voicing pride in the participation of the resistance axis in confronting the conspiracy targeting Syria.
He affirmed in this context that Hezbollah will continue supporting Syria and will be present wherever needed by the resistance project.
