Medals of loyalty presented to one hundred families of martyrs marking 7th anniversary of breaking the siege on Deir Ezzor
Deir Ezzor, (ST)- On the occasion of the 7th anniversary of breaking the siege on Deir Ezzor city, Deir Ezzor Governorate, in cooperation with the Directorate of Martyrs, Wounded and Missing Persons Affairs, held a celebration that included screening a documentary film about breaking ISIS siege on Deir Ezzor, reciting poems, and presenting medals of loyalty to one hundred families of martyrs in appreciation of the sacrifices of their sons in defense of the homeland.
During the celebration, several speeches were delivered that talked about the victory of Deir Ezzor, which held out for more than a thousand days before the Syrian Arab Army men were able to break the siege imposed by the terrorist organization ISIS.
The speeches expressed the greatness of the martyrdom and martyrs and the advantages and honors that the families of the martyrs enjoy in Syria.
The head of the Martyrs and Wounded Affairs Branch in the Eastern Region, Brigadier General Bassam Al-Hamid, pointed out that the honoring included 100 families of the martyrs of the Syrian Arab Army, in appreciation of their sacrifices and heroism for the sake of the nation’s glory and pride, in addition to honoring the children of the martyrs who excelled academically.
He noted that this honoring coincides with the anniversary of breaking the siege on the city of Deir Ezzor, which was liberated thanks to the sacrifices and heroism of the Syrian Arab Army that amazed the entire world.
In turn, the families of the martyrs expressed their pride and honor in their sons who illuminated with their pure blood the path to a resounding victory over the enemies of the nation and humanity, stressing that martyrdom will remain the highest value that is rooted in the souls of all honorable Syrians.
