Means to Establish Syrian-Iranian Joint Investment Projects Discussed

TEHRAN, (ST) _  Iranian minister of economy and finance Ali Tayyip Nia discussed yesterday with Syria’s ambassador in Tehran Adnan Mahmoud, the establishment of joint investment projects in the areas of oil, phosphate, cement, energy, agriculture and transport, and the participation of Iranian companies in reconstruction efforts in Syria, so as to contribute to strengthening Syrian people steadfastness and serving the interests of both countries and peoples.

 Minister Tayyip Nia stressed Iran ‘s firm will to ensure constant economic support to Syria and secure the basic needs of the greater achievements of the Syrian people in fighting against terrorism and to restoring security and stability to their Syria.

The Iranian minister added that the Iranian government is taking concrete steps to expand economic and trade relations and establish joint investment projects in vital sectors between the two countries.

He pointed out that Syria is paying the price for supporting the resistance front against the Zionist entity, noting that things are moving for the benefit of the Syrian people, who made great human and economic sacrifices to defend their country unity and independence.

For his part, the ambassador welcomed the participation of Iranian companies in Syria’s investment and reconstruction projects, pointing the common will of the two countries to translate the strategic relations and taking advantage of the great potential available in all investment sectors. He expressed gratitude to the Iranian government in supporting Syrian people steadfastness.
