Mayya holds talks with Syrian community in Oman over recent political and economic developments in Syria

MUSCAT, Jun.26,  (ST)- Syria’s ambassador to  Oman, Idris Mayya, has affirmed that defending Syria’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, liberating every occupied inch of it, eliminating terrorist groups, and taking care of Syrian expatriate affairs are priorities in Syria’s foreign policy.

He asserted the importance of the role of Syrian expatriates in participating in the reconstruction process.

The ambassador’s remarks came during his meeting with the Syrian community in Oman on Saturday.

Mayya talked during the meeting about the latest developments at the political and economic levels in the country, stressing that Syria continues to confront all attempts aimed at targeting its identity and its role in the region.

The Ambassador urged the members of the community to unite and support each other and present an honorable image of their motherland, Syria, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

He also spoke about the Syrian community’s key role in participating in the reconstruction of what has been destroyed by terrorist groups, referring to the legislations and laws issued by the government on the facilities being offered to everyone who wants to make investments in the country.

For their part, the members of the Syrian community affirmed that the general amnesty decree issued on the 30th of April for terrorist crimes reflects once again the leadership’s keenness on the return of every displaced person to his home and land despite the difficult conditions that the country is going through which have resulted inthe terrorist war and the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria.

In addition he praised the great sacrifices made by the Syrian Army and the victories it achieved over terrorism and the wise and courageous leadership that has preserved the dignity of the homeland and its sovereignty.
