Homs (ST): The Matreba border center between Syria and Lebanon was opened today after completing the logistical preparations and preparing the basic infrastructure, in the presence of official and popular events from the two countries. The opening of the border center comes in the context of measures aimed at improving the reality of economic, commercial and tourism relations between the two countries, and in a way that contributes to facilitating the movement of citizens on both sides of the border and based on popular demands.
The new border center provides services related to incoming and outgoing travelers, and it is the fourth center in Homs Governorate and the sixth between Syria and Lebanon.
On the Syrian side, the inauguration was attended by the Director of the Immigration and Passports Department at the Ministry of Interior, Major General Khaled Hadid, Homs Governorate Police Commander Major General Ahmed Shamiya, Head of the Immigration and Passports Branch in Homs, Brigadier Muhammad Suleimano, and Deputy Governor of Homs Elias Al-Khoury.
