Master’s graduates in Audiology Sciences honored by First Lady (2)

DAMASCUS – Under the patronage of Mrs. Asma al-Assad, Syrian Organization for the Disabled (AAMAL) in cooperation with Damascus University held an honoring ceremony for the first batch of MA graduates in Audiology Sciences in conjunction with the International Day for People with Disability, SANA reported.

Mrs. al-Assad awarded certificates for graduates: Fadi al-Shami, Mohamed al-Hallak, Imad Ibrahim al-Karrad, Farah Abu Durghm, Juhaina Numa, Elianor Otman and Alaa Ibrahim al-Karrad.

 Touring the organization’s sections, Mrs. al-Assad was informed about the organization’s work and met the families of children with disabilities who provided her with an account about their achievements after the training they received.

In turn, Dr. Ali Turkmani, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of AAMAL, said in his speech during the ceremony that building capabilities and rehabilitation staffs are the main objectives of the organization.

He pointed out that AAMAL had adopted the principle of partnership between state institutions and non-governmental organizations, stressing that people with disabilities are potential energy that should be tapped into to contribute to development in Syria.

During the ceremony, a short film titled “The Silent Day” was screened which focused on the importance of integrating people with disabilities in society and the way to deal with them and highlighted their lives and problems.

The Syrian Organization for the Disabled (AAMAL) is a civil non-profit organization founded in 2002 to enable persons with disabilities to integrate into society through the Autism Rehabilitation Center and the Rehabilitation Center for Hearing Disabilities.
