DAMASCUS, (ST)-A mass wedding was held yesterday for 20 army officers and soldiers at the Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus.
The wedding event, which was organized by the Ministry of Tourism in cooperation with the Syrian Expatriates Society, is a new message proving that the Syrians are a life-loving people and that death won’t defeat this people who keep steadfast despite the heinous conspiracy.
Bishir Yazigi, the Minister of Tourism, said “men of the Syrian Arab Army deserve these moments of happiness as they have insisted to enhance life loving culture though they are offering their souls to save their homeland.”
Minister of State for National Reconciliation Ali Haidr, who hailed the sacrifices of the Syrian army, said the mass wedding was an occasion to commemorate the values of life the terrorists have been trying to kill in Syria.
Chairperson of the Syrian Expatriates Society Safaa Hilal said “Syria will continue to be the home of peace. We will continue to hold happy events and today we are awarding those who defend our homeland.”
The mass wedding was attended by popular parties and civil society figures, a number of Syrian Army personnel, a number of People’s Assembly members and a delegation representing the Syria community in Sweden.
