Mashouh discusses with the Lebanese Minister of Culture ways of bilateral cooperation

The Minister of Culture, Dr. Labana Mashouh, discussed today with the Lebanese Minister of Culture, Muhammad Wissam Al-Murtada, during his official visit to Syria, ways to activate cultural cooperation between the two countries

Dr. Mashouh said in a press statement at the Ministry of Culture building in Damascus: There is a lot of historical and geographical similarities between the two countries that share the past, present and future, so it is necessary to think together to spread culture that would support common identity and values

Dr. Mashouh indicated that Syria and Lebanon are two countries that deserve attention to their heritage, ideas and values, expressing her hope for the success of the joint efforts to promote cultural relations, in a way that serves the interest of the two countries. 

For his part, the Lebanese Minister of Culture said: “The conviction that exists in the thought and conscience of every objective person is that Lebanon and Syria are one people in two independent and integrated states facing the most difficult circumstances due to their stances and insistence on not compromising, and that the two countries store values and literary and heritage that they brag about to the whole world.” 

Al-Murtada continued: “Lebanon, thanks to the Syrian support and the resistance, has reached a level of power that allowed it to overthrow major projects that were targeting the region, liberate its land, and impose a balance of terror with the usurping Israeli entity.” 

Al-Murtada invited the Syrian Minister of Culture to visit Lebanon to discuss the implementation of cultural cooperation steps
