Mansour: The time has come to hold Israeli occupation accountable for its crimes against the Palestinians
New York (ST) – Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, affirmed that the time has come for Israel to be subjected to law, and to be held accountable for its ongoing crimes against the Palestinians in accordance with international law.
Wafa News Agency reported that Mansour stressed in three letters to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the Security Council for this month, and the President of the United Nations General Assembly, that it is unacceptable for the international community to remain silent over the occupation entity’s blatant rejection of the international law, its violation of the United Nations Charter and the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, foremost of which is the right of the Palestinians to self-determination.
He pointed to the continuation of the occupation crimes against the Palestinians that led recently to the martyrdom of three youths in Nablus, the death of a Palestinian woman in Hawara town that is still being terrorized by the occupation forces and settlers, and the death of two youths during the occupation forces’ storming into Tulkarm.
Mansour warned of the continuation of the Israeli occupation with its settlement building plans that aim to Judaize the occupied Palestinian territories, the latest of which was the new plan announced by the occupation authorities to establish 1,248 settlement units in the West Bank.
Mansour called on the international community to provide protection for the Palestinian people in accordance with international and humanitarian law, human rights law and relevant United Nations resolutions.
