Mansour: The occupation’s genocide against the Palestinian people must stop

The Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, stressed that it is time to work collectively in line with international law to stop the genocidal war waged by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, and put an end to its illegal colonial occupation and apartheid regime.

According to WAFA, Mansour pointed out in letters to the UN secretary-general, the president of the Security Council and the president of the UN General Assembly that the occupation continues to commit crimes against Palestinians, especially in the Gaza Strip, in total contempt of international calls to stop its crimes and attacks, including the Security Council’s resolution a few days ago on the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, to which the occupation immediately declared its rejection.

Mansour condemned the repeated targeting of Al-Shifa Hospital   over the past week, along with Al-Nasr and Al-Amal hospitals, which has increased the deficit in the health system in Gaza and has  exacerbated the famine and starvation suffered by Palestinians in Gaza.

The Palestinian representative stated that, in conjunction with the occupation’s genocide on Gaza, it is escalating its crimes against Palestinians in the rest of the Occupied Palestinian Territory, along with the restrictions imposed on them by the occupying forces, which led to the forced displacement of more than 1.240 Palestinians, including 600 children, throughout the West Bank.

Mansour stressed that the Security Council must use all means at its disposal under the UN Charter to implement its resolutions, including resolution 2728, maintain international peace and security and act immediately to ensure an immediate ceasefire.

On the 25th of this month, the UN Security Council approved resolution 2728, submitted by 10 countries, calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip during Ramadan only and that it should lead to a permanent ceasefire.
