Mansour calls on the international community to protect the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli detention centers

On May 3rd, Permanent Representative of Palestine at the United Nations Riyad Mansour called for providing protection for the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli occupation detention centers, who are subjected to the crime of deliberate medical negligence.

He indicated that the occupation’s aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip yesterday constitutes a flagrant violation of international law.

In his speech before the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, Mansour explained that the prisoner Khader Adnan was martyred yesterday after 86 days of hunger strike, as a result of the deliberate medical negligence of the occupation authorities towards the Palestinian prisoners.

He appealed to the United Nations, the international community and relevant organizations to intervene urgently to protect prisoners and release them.

He pointed to the exacerbation of the daily suffering of the Palestinian people due to the escalation of violations by the occupation and settlers.

He called for holding the occupation’s officials accountable for their crimes and for preserving the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, foremost of which is the establishment of an independent state with Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital.
