Mansour calls for concrete measures to hold the occupation accountable for its crimes

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations Riyad Mansour renewed the call on the international community, led by the Security Council to take immediate and tangible measures to hold the Israeli occupation authorities accountable for their crimes against the Palestinians.

WAFA News Agency stated that Mansour, in three identical letters to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the Security Council for this month and the President of the United Nations General Assembly, made it clear that “Israel,” the occupying power, continues its illegal settlement building operations, as it announced during the past week a plan to establish more than a thousand settlement units to expand illegal settlements already established in Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and to separate areas of the West Bank from each others, in a grave violation of the United Nations resolutions and the international law.

Mansour indicated that the settlers’ incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque continued and escalated since the first day of Ramadan, in a flagrant violation of the legal and historical status of the mosque and a clear attempt to provoke Muslims. He also pointed to the attack carried out by settlers on the nineteenth of this month on the Gethsemane Church in Al-Quds.

Mansour warned against the continuous incitement of the occupation officials against the Palestinians. He indicated that the racist statements of the minister in the occupation government, Bezalel Smotrich, in which he denied the existence of the Palestinian people, reflect the war waged by the occupation to liquidate the Palestinian presence, and warns of a new catastrophe.

Mansour said that in the absence of international protection for the Palestinian people, and against the background of the continuous incitement of the occupation officials, the occupation attacks have escalated, causing the martyrdom of 91 Palestinians, including 17 children, since the beginning of this year, which requires effective international measures to implement international law and UN resolutions on the Palestinian issue with the aim of ending Israel’s illegal colonialist settlement expansion plan and apartheid system and to ensure justice for the Palestinian people.
