BAGHDAD,(ST)_ Iraqi Prime Minister Nur al-Maliki stressed that his country ‘s vision to get out of the crisis in Syria is through a political and diplomatic solution, and non-interference in its affairs reiterating his country ‘s position in rejecting arming “the Syrian opposition” which “will lead to chaos in the region in the event of the these weapons access to extremist organizations as al-Qaeda Affiliated Al- Nusra Front.
In a news conference in Baghdad yesterday Maliki added , “What is happening in Syria is limited to the Syrian people and no country can be a substitute for the will of this people, stressing that Iraq does not intervene except in finding a way help the Syrians out of the crisis, pointing out that Iraq “distanced itself in order to protect its borders from infiltration and reciprocated infiltration of terrorist groups.”
He expressed concern to that some countries are arming terrorist groups in Iraq because by this weapon, a second hot bed area will be created , pointing out that Iraq has asked all states not to arm these groups but they did not commit to this call and there are acts of killings and abductions of Iraqi soldiers in daily fighting with terrorist organizations.
