Mali suspends broadcast of Radio France International and France 24

Mali announced the suspension of broadcasts of Radio France International and France 24 TV channels in the country because they spread false allegations about abuses committed by the country’s army.

“The government categorically rejects these false allegations against the Malian armed forces and has started the process of suspending the broadcast of Radio France International and France 24 until further notice,” Malian government spokesman Abdoulaye Maiga said in a statement.

Maiga pointed out that the actions of Radio France International and France 24 are similar to the bad practices and role of Radio Mille Colin, which encouraged the genocide in Rwanda in 1994.
