Malaysian Prime Minister Congratulates President al-Sharaa on Forming the new Syrian Government 

President Ahmad al-Sharaa received today a phone call from Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, during which he offered his congratulations on the occasion of the formation of the new Syrian government.

He expressed his best wishes to the Syrian people for more prosperity, stability, and progress.

 

During the call, the Malaysian Prime Minister confirmed his country’s keenness to strengthen bilateral relations with the Syrian Arab Republic, highlighting the importance of opening new horizons for cooperation in various fields, primarily the economic sector.

He also expressed Malaysia’s readiness to encourage its companies to invest in Syria and contribute to reconstruction efforts, especially in the fields of energy, agriculture, education, and technology.

Mr. Ibrahim stressed his interest in strengthening trade relations and expanding exchanges between the private sectors of both countries, emphasizing the importance of enhancing cultural and scientific ties as well.

The Malaysian Prime Minister extended an official invitation to President Ahmad al-Sharaa to visit Malaysia at the nearest opportunity, in a step that would strengthen cooperation and friendship between the two peoples.

 

For his part, President al-Sharaa expressed his deep thanks for Malaysia’s supportive stance, and for the congratulations extended by its leadership.

He reaffirmed the importance of strengthening economic cooperation and development as part of Syria’s vision to open up to Asian and global partners, and to build a better future for the Syrian people.
