Makei: We will take strict measures in the event of the deployment of nuclear weapons on the territory of Poland
Minsk (ST): Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei announced that his country is considering taking strict retaliatory measures in the event that nuclear arsenals are deployed on the territory of Poland and other neighboring countries.
Makei told the Russian newspaper Izvestia: “If nuclear weapons are already deployed on the territory of our neighboring countries, we can take tougher steps.”.
In response to a question about whether these steps mean the deployment of nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus, Makei added: “No one can rule anything out at the present time, so I think our leaders discussed such options as well.”
The Polish President Andrzej Duda Gazeta Polska recently said that the absence of nuclear weapons in his country is a problem and that the question of the deployment of US nuclear weapons in Poland is open.
