Majority of Indonesians Support the Syrian State: MP

 DAMASCUS, (ST)- Head and members of the Syria-Indonesian Friendship Society at the Syrian People’s Assembly discussed with Indonesian MP Tawfi al-Hadi during a meeting on Sunday means of enhancing parliamentary friendship between the two countries.

Fatema Khamis, Head of the Society, thanked all the countries which supported Syria in its war on foreign-backed terrorism, stressing that visits by foreign delegations to Syria are important to convey the truth about what is really going on in Syria to the public opinion.

 Al-Hadi, on his part, affirmed that Syria is a friend of Indonesia. The two countries are linked to each other by historical relations, he added, noting Syria’s support for Indonesia at international forums.   

The Indonesian MP talked about his country ‘s willingness to take part in the process of Syria’s reconstruction.

Al-Hadi, who stressed his confidence in the wisdom of President Bashar Al-Assad, said “the majority of the Indonesian people realize what is going on in Syria and support the Syrian state.”

He expressed hope that Syria will emerge from the crisis soon.
