Major General Salami: America is trying to ignite an internal war in Afghanistan

Tehran (ST): The Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard, Major General Hussein Salami, confirmed that America is trying to ignite an internal war in Afghanistan.

The Iranian news agency, IRNA, quoted Major General Salami as saying in a statement today that America, after 20 years of its interference in the affairs of Afghanistan, is seeking, through causing a new strife, to ignite a civil war in this country.

 

Afghanistan is witnessing deteriorating security conditions and fierce battles between government forces and Taliban militants, while US and NATO forces continue to withdraw from this country two decades after its invasion under the pretext of combating terrorism.

On the other hand, Major General Salami made it clear that the Americans committed a huge number of massacres in Iraq after they set foot on its land, wondering if the occupation left results other than suffering and bloody conflicts.
