Maduro: We are confident of Syria’s victory over terrorism

Caracas (ST): Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro affirmed his confidence in Syria’s victory over terrorism and its supporters and the liberation of its entire territory from it.

Maduro said in an interview with Al-Mayadeen TV, “Syria was destined to endure a criminal terrorist war, and its people have suffered a lot during the past 11 years, but they knew how to withstand and win, and the world will be astonished by the resurrection of Syria in the coming years.

Maduro added, “President Assad is a brave and heroic man. He is really a great man and fighter. We have in Venezuela a very large community of the Syrian people, that is, approximately one million people of Syrian origin. There is a Syrian-Venezuelan club in which all Syrian cultural activities are held, and we feel great love for Syria, because I know it well and have visited it often when I was foreign minister with leader Hugo Chavez.”

Maduro renewed his country’s support for the Palestinian cause and not to abandon it under any circumstances or pressure, stressing that the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people are unparalleled in the world, and they must one day be paid for.

The Venezuelan president stressed that his country is currently witnessing an economic recovery as a result of continuous work, based on the recovery of production and the collective effort of the entire country, as the year 2021 recorded economic growth for the first time since the imposition of the criminal US imperialist sanctions on it.
