Caracas (ST)_ Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro made a cabinet reshuffle that included several ministries, including the foreign ministry. Maduro appointed Venezuela’s ambassador to China, Felix Placencia, as the new foreign minister, replacing Jorge Arreasa, who will take over as minister of industry and national production.
“It is the responsibility of Placencia to continue the excellent diplomatic work that Arreasa has been doing, and we must ensure the victory of our peace diplomacy around the world,” Maduro said on his Twitter account.
“I have confidence in Arreasa’s ability to work, commit and move forward with greater force to revitalize the production of everything in Venezuela, that is the goal,” Maduro added.
The ministerial reshuffle also included the Ministries of Education, Interior and Mines.
