“Made in Syria” specialized exhibition for clothing, textiles and production requirements opens at Damascus Fairgrounds
Damascus (ST): With the participation of 85 national companies, the activities of the 12th edition of the “Made in Syria” exhibition, specialized in clothing, textile and production requirements, Fall-Winter 2023, kicked off yesterday.
The exhibition is held by the Federation of Chambers of Industry and Commerce and the Association of Syrian Exporters of Apparel and Textile on the grounds of the new exhibition city in Damascus.
In a statement to the media during the opening of the exhibition, Minister of Industry Abdul Qadir Joukhadar stated that the exhibition was the result of cooperation between the Federation of Chambers of Industry and Commerce and the Syrian Exporters Association for Apparel and Textile, as it includes industrialists from various Syrian governorates, especially Aleppo, participating in national products of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, in addition to children’s clothing and leather industries, as a dedication to the slogan “Made in Syria”.
Minister Jokhadar indicated that the exhibition is an opportunity to market Syrian products and goods internally and externally, stressing that the government is still supporting all sectors and the industrial sector, especially by securing production requirements and imports and securing energy carriers so that this product remains pioneering, distinguished and competitive.
For his part, the Governor of Damascus Muhammad Tariq Kreishati referred to the diversity of textile products and national clothing that the exhibition includes, stressing the government’s support for industrialists according to the available capabilities.
For his part, the head of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry and the head of the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside, Ghazwan Al-Masri, indicated that this exhibition is highly relied upon by industrialists in the textile sector to open export doors, operate industrial facilities, secure more job opportunities, and supply the public treasury with foreign exchange, especially in the current circumstances that Syria is currently going through. He referred to the importance of the recently issued government decisions, especially the decision 970, which was in response to the demands of industrialists.
For his part, Vice President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce and President of Aleppo Chamber of Commerce Amer Hamwi said: We are now in a new phase of the Syrian economy’s activation, which requires consensual efforts from everyone, from the government and from the commercial and industrial sectors, coordination and cooperation with all parties to support the economic movement, indicating that the export exhibitions are important exhibitions to restore the brilliance of Syrian products and export them to the countries of the region, especially in Iraq and the Gulf, and to restore foreign markets.
