Macron: The EU will close its borders today

Paris (ST): French President Emanuel Macron said that the EU would close its borders with other states for 30 days to prevent the spread of corona-virus pandemic.

In a televised speech, Macron said that the EU would close borders with the states that do not belong to  Schengen for thirty days as of today.

He added that a number of measures have been taken to stop the spread of corona-virus in France including the postponement of municipal elections  and putting all the human and material capabilities at the disposal of the health sector to confront the aggravating situation.

Meanwhile, the French Public Health Commission said that 21 people died due to their infection with the corona virus raising the total number of deaths by this virus to 148 people.
