Macron: All Countries Ready to Support Syria and We Are Working to Lift Sanctions on It

French President Emmanuel Macron stressed that all countries are ready to support the new Syria, which succeeded on the eighth of December to get out of the darkness and the long night after a war led by the Syrian people with great courage, stressing the need to lift sanctions quickly for economic revival.

Macron said in a speech during the Paris conference on Syria: “we realize and know that we are morally obliged to keep up with Syria on this march, and we are ready to provide any assistance to it, because it is about its future, its sovereignty and the future of its people, in addition to the future of all countries in the region and our future. I will host President Ahmed Al-Sharaa soon in France in order to continue these deliberations.

Macron pointed out that the challenge facing Syria today is to establish an inclusive government system that respects everyone, as this is essential to achieve stability in Syria, and France will help achieve this and maintain security and stability in the region.

Macron stressed the need to ensure conditions conducive to the return of Syrian refugees, so that they can participate in the transition process and the renaissance of their country, as they possess significant skills that can be used in the reconstruction process.

The French president explained that the humanitarian and economic situation is another challenge to Syria after decades of war, as France demanded the speedy lifting of European sanctions in order to allow Syria to begin its economic renaissance.

He pointed out that his country has provided 50 million dollars for humanitarian assistance and to secure stability in Syria. A delegation representing French organizations will visit Syria soon to see the needs of the Syrian people. France and its European partners are ready to do more within this framework, along with the countries of the region and the international community. Macron added.
