Lukyanov: Russian Arms Exports to Syria Continue in Implementation of Signed Deals

ST. PETERSBURG, (ST)-Deputy Secretary of Russian National Security Council Yevgeny Lukyanov on Saturday stressed that Russian arms exports to Syria continue in accordance with deals signed between the two countries.

The Russian Sputnik News Agency quoted Lukyanov as saying on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum that “Russia’s arms supplies to the Syrian armed forces continues in implementation of the signed deals obligations.”

Regarding the Russian forces taking part in the counter-terrorism mission in Syria, Lukyanov said “there are no plans currently to send more arms to the forces there. I know our forces are well-equipped and they don’t suffer any shortage of military equipments or ammunitions.”
