Louay Kayali Forum for Fine Art kicks off in Aleppo

Aleppo (ST): Tishreen Art Gallery hosted the Artist Louay Kayali’s Forum for Fine Art, which was organized by the Aleppo Culture Directorate in cooperation with the Fathi Muhammad Center for Fine Arts.

The first day of the forum included a live drawing workshop that dealt with sculptural works and a group painting that embodied the works of the late artist Kayali, with the participation of 20 students from the Fathi Muhammad Art Center.

The Director of Culture in Aleppo, Jaber Al-Sajour, confirmed in a statement that the artist Kayali is considered a creative artistic stature who left a distinctive imprint in the world of art, as he was from the expressive school.

Al-Sajour mentioned that the first joint exhibition of the artist Kayali was in 1960 with the artist Fateh Al-Modarres, and that he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, in addition to his studies in Aleppo, and won a number of awards for his creative artwork. He worked as a teacher of fine arts at the University of Damascus and participated in many shows and competitions.

The head of the Union of Fine Artists in Aleppo, Nouran Jabakji,  underlined the importance of the artistic productions created by the artist Kayali, in addition to his graduation of many artists who are still continuing to complete his rich artistic career, stressing that his works will remain a school for future generations.
