Locals of Gharanij town in Deir Ezzor eastern countryside protest against crimes of US-backed SDF militia
HASAKA, (ST)- The locals of Gharanij town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor took to the streets to protest against the provocative and aggressive acts committed by the US-backed militia called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) against the locals and to call for releasing the citizens kidnapped or detained by the SDF groups.
Local sources said that the town of Gharanij witnessed anti-SDF demonstrations by angry locals demanding the release of their kidnapped sons, calling for halting SDF’s arbitrary actions and ending the state of disorder in the town caused by the presence of this US-backed militia there.
The source pointed out that the protestors closed the main roads of the town and burned tires.
On June 24, citizens in Abu Hamam village in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor took to the streets to protest against the aggressive practices of the US-backed SDF groups. The protesters demanded expelling the US-backed SDF militia from the village in order to put an end to their provocative and aggressive acts which include confiscating the locals’ properties and stealing and smuggling Syrian oil.
The Syrian al-Jazira region witnesses wide-scale demonstrations on a daily basis, mainly in the countryside of Deir Ezzor and Hasaka. The demonstrators protested against SDF’s oppressive acts and crimes of killing, kidnapping and looting which created a state of insecurity in the areas where these US-backed groups are positioned.
