Local, Arab and International Companies to Take Part in Energy Exhibition

Damascus, (ST) – With the participation of local, Arab and world companies working in the field of energy, the Syrian International Foundation for Marketing, “SIMA” and  in cooperation with the Ministry of Electricity tolaunch the First International Specialist Exhibition for Renewable Energies “El Energy”. The event will be held at the Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus on October 19 with the support of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce and the Union Engineers of Damascus.

Director General of the Organizing Foundation, Mowafaq Tayara, said in a statement to local press that the goal of the three- day exhibition is to spread awareness among people that they must rely on the renewable clean energies, conservation of energy, raising the efficiency of use to provide investment opportunities and the development of industrial automation market and clean energy technology.

 

He clarified the need to activate the use of renewable energies, the adoption of national policies that meet the demand for alternative energy, focus on renewable energy and the need to change the style and culture of excessive consumption of resources in general and energy in particular through the support of research and studies to reach more new ideas in this area at the national and regional levels.

“The strategic view of renewable energies now includes not only reducing dependence on oil and gas for electricity generation but also reducing the emitted gases affecting pollution and global warming and consequently, climate change,” Mr. Tayara added.

The activities of the exhibition, in the second and third day, include lectures dealing with the development challenges for the electricity sector, strategic vision of the Ministry of Electricity and rationalization,  energy conservation and the challenges of the network of power transmission, practical applications of the company savings in the field of solar energy as well as topics related to the applications of electricity, solar energy, the structure of the solar panels and methods of selection system generating and investment in the electricity sector with the participation of a number of experts, engineers and specialists from the Ministry of Electricity and institutions.
