Local Administration losses hit S.P. 2795bn in 30 months

DAMASCUS,(ST)_The Local Administration Ministry’s losses hit Syrian Pound 2795 billion in the past 30 months, according to the official news agency.

The agency quoted Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs, who also occupies the position of Local administration Minister Eng. Omar Ghalawengias saying: ” Since the beginning of the crisis in 2011 and until the end of September 2013, the value of direct losses of the ministry and institutions that affiliate to it reached up to S.P. 627 billion while the indirect losses’ value estimated S.P. 2168 billion.”

Ghalawengi’s remark was made today as he was chairing the meeting of Reconstruction Committee which discussed the demands of public institutions for subsidy.

The Committee approved spending S.P. 2.52 billion for rehabilitating part of damages of public companies .

In September 2013, the Tishreen newspaper reported that the amount S.P. 50 billion has been allocated for reconstruction process in 2014.
