Like other Syrian governorates, the polling centers in Homs City and countryside have witnessed considerable mass turnout since the early morning, with citizens voting and choosing their representatives in the elections for members of local administration councils.
Mr. Hussam Hamdan, head of the Al-Rajabliyah polling center in the western countryside of Homs, said, “The polling center witnessed a large number of the villagers since the morning, who came before they went to their fields, to elect their representatives to the local administration councils and choose the right persons, hoping that the successful candidates would play an active role in the process of developing and rebuilding a safe and prosperous Syria in the next stage.
Mr. Mashaal Mashaal, the secretary of the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party in the village Al-Mankoulah, indicated that the elections are a message to the entire world that affirms the adherence of the Syrian people to their rights and national constants, stressing the ability of the Syrian people under the wise leadership of President Bashar Al-al-Assad to rebuild Syria better than it was.
Teacher Yahya Darwish says that elections are a national duty as it is the right of every citizen to express his opinion freely in choosing their representatives who believe that they will work honestly and faithfully for the benefit of the nation and citizen, especially since the local administration is the citizen’s direct link with the state and the executive tool of the government to develop the society.
Eng. Wa’el Yacoub, Head of the polling center of the Directorate of Tourism in Al-Hawash, praised the great mass turnout that the Center has witnessed since the morning, which reflects the citizens’ awareness and great sense of responsibility in choosing their competent representatives to achieve advancement and development in all fields, thereby contributing to the improvement of the economic, service and living conditions of citizens.
Teacher Suleiman Ibrahim said that these elections are a new victory for Syria, stressing that participation in them is an essential part of the democratic means of expressing the sincere wishes of the people to assume their full responsibility in building what has been destroyed by terrorism and restoring security and peace to our dear country.
