Local Administration and Environment: 135 Industrial and Crafts Facilities put into service during 2022
Projects completed by the Ministry of Local Administration and Environment during 2022 varied between development and investment services. Basic services were restored to many regions in various governorates, including maintenance and rehabilitation of damaged schools and homes, construction and maintenance of roads, rehabilitation of sewage networks and expansion of industrial zones.
In the field of maintenance and rehabilitation of schools, construction and maintenance of roads and rehabilitation of sewage networks:
-The rehabilitation of 327 schools at a rate of 10,000 classrooms have returned to service.
– Maintenance of 1421 schools.
-Rehabilitation of 7 hospitals and 76 health centers.
-Rehabilitation of 260.58 km roads.
-Create 30-kilometre roads.
-Rehabilitation of 56,533 kilometers of sewage systems.
Allocation of industrial and artisanal installations and facilities to service “industrial cities”:
-135 industrial and craft enterprises entered into actual production in industrial cities, bringing the total number to 2164.
-Number of industrial and craft enterprises under construction in industrial cities is 340, bringing the total number of industrial and craft enterprises under construction to 3,167.
-Allocation of 361 industrial and artisanal establishments in industrial cities, bringing the total number of industrial and artisanal enterprises allocated to 10,891.
Internal transport services in the governorates:
-100 buses were distributed to internal transport companies and governorates received by the Ministry in the form of a grant from China.
-58 internal transport buses repaired and restored, bringing the number of operating internal transport buses to 596.
Citizen Service Centers:
-Opening of 8 citizen’s service centers in a number of governorates.
-Launching of the solar street lighting project to target the main streets in the governorates after the supply of 11,000 lighting devices by UNHCR.
-Restoration of 3,725 partially damaged homes in cooperation with international organizations.
-Deportation of rubble of approximately 100,000 cubic meters.
