‘Little Tourist’ Festival kicked off in Damascus

Ministry of Tourism in cooperation with the Baath Vanguards Organization (BVO) organized Monday the ‘Little Tourist’ Festival in Azm Palace in Damascus.

The opening ceremony of the  festival  included folk dances and stage shows performed by children from Quneitra, Sweida, Damascus and Tartous provinces, , according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency quoted Minister of Tourism Bisher Yazegy as saying that the festival coincides with the World Tourism Day being held under the title ‘tourism for all’ and it aims to increase children’s knowledge about tourism.

On his part, head of the BVO Ezzat Arabi Katbi underlined the importance of cooperation to rebuild the Man and to consolidate cultural tourism which reflects the deep-rooted civilization and history of the country.

The little tourists will visit the Omayyad Mosque and Khan As’ad Pasha in the old city of Damascus.
