Leftover explosive device goes off in Babila, a woman and child martyred

Damascus countryside – A woman and her child were martyred in a blast of an explosive device left over by terrorist organizations in Babila town in Damascus countryside.

A source at Damascus countryside police command told SANA that an explosive device that terrorists planted prior to their evacuation to northern Syria went off in a house in Sidi Mikdad district in Babila town, killing a mother and her child and seriously wounding his father.

The engineering units continue to sweep Babila, Yalda and Beit Sahem towns for explosives ahead of restoring normal life to the three towns.

Hundreds of families have returned to their homes in Babila, Yalda and Beit Sahem in the wake of declaring them free of terrorism on May 10 after terrorists capitulated and agreed to hand over their weapons to the Syrian state before they were evacuated to northern Syria.
