Lecture on “Iran’s Foreign Policy” at Al-Assad National Library in Damascus

Damascus, (ST) – The Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates held at the Al-Assad National Library in Damascus, a political symposium and a lecture by Kamal Kharrazi, Head of the Council of Foreign Relations and former Iranian Foreign Minister, entitled “Iranian Foreign Policy” . A number of ambassadors as well as political, cultural and religious perdonalities participated in the symposium.

During the lecture, Dr. Kamal Kharrazi said: The reason behind America’s continuous and successive failure is its lack of knowledge of the Middle East region and its cultural heritage, and its underestimation of peoples’ ability to resist.

Kharrazi added that the Islamic Republic of Iran considers Saudi Arabia a major infurntial country in the region and influential in the Islamic world, and neither Iran nor Saudi Arabia can exclude one another.

Dr. Kharrazi added that the joint Iranian-Syrian experience shows that the most important component of power in our world is the ability to resist the global system of domination and confront the policies of the greedy major powers.

In turn, Director of the Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Imad Mustafa, said that Syria and the Islamic Republic of Iran share the same stance on Palestine which is to support the Palestinian cause and resistance.
