Lebanon: We welcome US President Donald Trump’s announcement to lift sanctions on Syria

The presidency of the Lebanese Republic said in a statement “President Joseph Aoun expressed his great welcome to US President Donald Trump’s announcement to lift sanctions on Syria.”

 

The statement added ” The decision to lift the sanctions came as a result of the commendable efforts of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman.”

 

“Aoun hopes that this courageous decision will be another step towards restoring Syria’s stability, which will have positive impact on Lebanon, our entire region, and its peoples.” The statement concluded.
